4. Learn to Learn Chumash

The box describes the software as:

"6 interactive skill-building games for learning Chumash vocabulary and grammar in a fun way! Play and discover 400 stunning pictures of Israel!"

Play the various games at the different levels of difficulty.

  • How would you use this program?
  • How would you use this program to support your Chumash teaching? How well do you think this program transfers between different ages and skill levels?
  • How would you prepare a class to be able to use this program?
  • At what point in your Chumash teaching / teaching of dikduk would you introduce this program?

Evaluate the value of the photographs of Israel as a background.

What does this achieve? Does it enhance or detract?

  • Would you agree that the program facilitates "skill-building"?
  • Note the strengths of this program. Note any weaknesses. (You don’t have to find any!)
  • Can you think of what you might have designed differently to achieve the same goals?

Does this program achieve anything that could not easily be achieved in another way?

This program has a simple but fun format and has a broad coverage on different levels.  Children will enjoy using it and it is well worth considering its potential benefits for your teaching of Chumash.
