When a pupil does some great work, asks a clever question, gives an outstanding answer or simply behaves with derech eretz , treat him / her with a mitzva token. Click on one of the links below - and print out the sheet you want - sheets Reuven, Shimon and Levi are available at present. Give every pupil a colour printout of the whole sheet. They will stick their tokens in the right places as they receive them. To make the tokens, simply photocopy this sheet on to paper or photocopying card - use coloured paper or card - trim away the edges and cut out all of the tokens. Make a good number and give each teacher in the L.K. department a batch of tokens in a little box. Introduce the new scheme with excitement. Give tokens during lessons, during tefilla, for good bentching after lunch, for kindness in the playground, politeness in the corridor, etc. As you give each token, encourage the recipient to take note of the little mitzva at the foot of the token. As the pupils begin to fill their sheets with their tokens their enthusiasm will grow. They may swap with friends when they receive tokens they already have, but may not just give tokens to friends as gifts! Once whole sheets have been completed you will award certificates and or small prizes during an assembly. Pupils will then be given their second sheet and begin collecting again. I have only provided you with the Reuven, Shimon and Levi sheets at the moment. It actually gets complicated for the teachers once more than one sheet (e.g. Reuven and Shimon) are being collected at the same time, but increasingly fun for the children! Make sure pupils fill in their names, etc., at the bottom of each sheet.
BeHatzlacha! Now print out some Mitzva Tokens!
