Questions on the Daf:

1.  Rav Elon says that "the whole purpose of Purim is to be happy."
What do you think it is about Purim that makes it such a happy Chag?

3.  What are the special Mitzvot of Purim all designed to bring?

Now read the story, “The Lost Boy.”

4.  What is the main lesson of this story?

5.  How did Josh's mum connect what he did with the actions
     of Queen Esther?

6.  What would you say was most praiseworthy about
what Josh decided to do in the end?

Now look elsewhere in the Daf to find answers to the following questions.

     b. Who's job was it going to be, from that time, to work

for not saying Hallel on Purim?

Achashveirosh and we can not say Hallel while still servants
          to a human king.
     b.  The miracle of Purim happened outside Eretz Yisrael.
     c.  We only say Hallel on a Yom Tov given in the Torah,
but Purim happened later and therefore is not in the Torah
so we do not say Hallel on Purim.

9.  From what tribe was Mordechai and what has that to do
with Mordechai refusing to bow down to Haman?

10.  At the time of the Torah Moshe collected Half Shekels to count
       the Jewish people.
       a.  What was done with the half shekels collected at the time of the
            Beit Hamikdash?
       b.  What is done with the half shekels (e.g. 50 pences) we give
            nowadays on Erev Purim?

11.  When is the best time for giving Matanot La'evyonim (gifts to the poor)?

12.  This year there is a "three day Purim" in Yerushalayim.
Which Purim mitzvot will be done there on Friday, 14th Adar,
Shabbat, 15th Adar and Sunday, 16th Adar this year?
