Pasuk:  6, 4

Vayikra 6, 4

"He shall [then] remove his garments
and dress in other garments.
He shall take out the ashes
beyond the encampment,
to a pure [undefiled] place."

[Note:  This pasuk deals with the removal of the large build-up of ashes, which only took place occasionally.  The previous pasuk dealt with the 'Terumah' , the offering of a panful of ashes left over from the 'Olah' (Burnt Offering), which took place daily.]

-  Now ask yourself:  -  Can you explain, in your own words,
            what Rashi says here?

                                     -  Now that you have read Rashi's answer,
can you explain what his question was?

                                  -  Can you pick out particular words in
the pasuk on which Rashi is focusing?

                                     -  Why does Rashi give us the 'mashal' of
                   the servant and his master
and what do we learn from it?

Research:

1.  Ramban does not completely agree with Rashi.
     What does he say?
3.  Find out what Rabbi Shimshon Raphael Hirsch learnt
     from this pasuk.
(You will find his main point cited in 'Growth
      Through Torah'
by Rabbi Zelig Pliskin)

2.  Also, what lesson did Rabbi Moshe Feinstein draw
from this pasuk and this Rashi in connection with davening?

(You will find this in Volume I of the English edition).

Can you now read, translate and explain the Rashi without the English alongside it?  Have a go, below:
